Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of insectscreenshongkong.com and any purchase you make from Magnetic Screens Company (a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd, "we", "us" or "our"). By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. Our Hong Kong and registered addresses are in the footer of every page and on the About page.
How a contract is formed
The products shown on this site are an invitation to you to place an order, not a binding offer. Your order is the offer. A contract comes into being when we accept it, which we do by sending you an order confirmation email or by dispatching the goods, whichever happens first.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Hong Kong dollars (HK$). Hong Kong levies no VAT, GST or sales tax, so the price shown is the price charged. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you pay: HK$150 flat, or free on orders of HK$550 and over. Payment is taken at checkout by card through Stripe or through PayPal. We do not store your full card details.
If a price is obviously wrong, for example through a typing error, we will tell you before dispatch and you can confirm the corrected price or cancel at no cost.
Delivery
We deliver throughout Hong Kong. Times, costs and what to do if a parcel goes missing are on the Shipping page.
Cutting a screen to size
Every standard screen is designed to be cut down at home to fit your own opening. Order the size above your measurement. Once you have cut a screen it cannot be returned as unwanted, though your rights over faulty goods are unaffected. Screens we make to your measurements are covered separately on the Refunds & Returns page.
Returns
We offer a 15-day return window as our own store policy. Hong Kong law does not provide a general cooling-off period for online purchases, so this window is a voluntary commitment rather than a statutory right, and the details, conditions and fees are on the Refunds & Returns page. Your statutory rights over faulty goods are separate and unaffected.
Faults and guarantees
Goods we sell carry the implied conditions of the Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap. 26): they must correspond with their description, be of merchantable quality and be reasonably fit for their purpose. Where we provide a service, the Supply of Services (Implied Terms) Ordinance (Cap. 457) implies that it is carried out with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, and as against a consumer they cannot be excluded (Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance, Cap. 71).
Acceptable use
Please do not misuse the site: no attempting to break into it, no scraping it for a competing catalogue, and no using it for anything unlawful. We may withdraw access if you do.
Our liability
Our liability is set out on the Limited Liability Indemnity page. Nothing there or here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Hong Kong law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of the place you live in that would otherwise apply to you. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected. We would much rather settle any dispute with you directly, so please contact us first. If we cannot resolve it, the Hong Kong Consumer Council assists with consumer complaints at consumer.org.hk, and monetary claims up to HK$75,000 can be brought in the Small Claims Tribunal.
